Who invented football?
While there are many people who contributed to the development of the sport, Walter Camp is considered the father of American football. In 1880, he proposed a set of rules that would make the game more structured and safe. These rules included downs, the line of scrimmage, and the neutral zone. Camp also advocated for a shorter playing field and the use of eleven players on each side. His suggestions helped to shape the game of American football as we know it today. When did football start?

Kicking the ball or batting it with one’s hands, knees, or heads was the only way to move the ball around the field. The maximum number of points possible for the game was ten. The game ended with a 6-4 for Rutgers and laid the foundation for what would become one of the most beloved sports in the world.
When was NFL founded?
